Over the past week I took a trip to Colorado, it was wonderful to take some time away. During that time I ate some amazing food (swipe to see some of my ridiculous meals πŸ˜†) and took some much needed off time from the gym. I still filmed some workouts, so content will be coming in hot πŸ”₯😜

But today I want to share 5 strategies I use when I want to make my diet more minimal and allow me to enjoy life more.

1. INTERMITTENT FASTING- this is a big one. Most people throw their eating schedule/habits out the window when life gets hard. STAY CONSISTENT WITH SOMETHING. I like fasting because it allows me to be productive during the day, and enjoy a ton of food at night. This means I can enjoy 2000+ cal meals of steak, BBQ, IN-N-OUT, and drinks with friends! 🍸 πŸ”

2. PROTEIN - protein is the most satisfying macro nutrient. Not getting enough protein will make it much easier to overeat on carbs and fat. One additional tip here is to have most of your protein earlier in the day with a healthier meal so you have more room for pizza later πŸ˜‹ πŸ•

3. BE PREPARED - while there are healthy & convenient options to help you stay on your diet when life gets busy like protein bars and shakes, nobody wants to pay $3-5 for one at a gas station or airport πŸ˜‚

4. STAY BUSY - for many of us, traveling & having fun is synonymous with food/eating. I'm not here to say it isn't fun. But, there is a lot more to do and enjoy beyond food. Focus on spending time with important people, stay active, go for a walk or swim. But most importantly, remember; balance is how you stay consistent longterm.

5. COUNT YOUR MACROS - whether it's when you're already in McDonald's or tracking your food at home to build the habit and eye for being able to estimate your macros in the future. Knowledge is power, and knowing whats in the food you're eating will help you make better decisions.
